And chasing squirrels isn't as easy as you'd think. I've been assigned at least twelve of them.

A Boxer Thursday: Having Fun at Billy Bangs Again!
I'm feeling so great now that I'm on new meds, I got to go out and party with Mo and Brian at Billy Bangs out on the patio. Here's Lynette, the pretty lady who brought me some water.
Here are Scott and Paul the owners who both came out to see me because I am so famous in the hood.
Here I am just kickin' it happy to be out and about again hangin' with my homies.

I'm Baaaaaaack!
I haven't posted for awhile because I've been a bit under the weather. You see, I'm turning nine next week and my stomach decided it didn't like my food anymore. If you've ever lived with a boxer you know what that can mean! So, my pal, Mo bought me some human quality dog food and I tried that for awhile but I still managed to pollute the atmosphere. Heheh.. So, now my pal Brian has to make rice and veggies and barbecue chicken for me. They're such suckers! I must admit though I feel much better and I am getting my girlish figure back. I do enjoy the new cuisine. Here I am waiting for my grub.

A Boxer and Her Ball
We Boxers are quite adept with a ball. Sometimes I take it to the top of the stairs and drop it so I can chase it. I can dribble it like a basket ball or play keep away from my pals with it. I will run after it , but I never give it back to whoever threw it without a tug of war. Eventually I let Brian think he's won by dropping the slimy, wet ball on the floor. He always falls for it and throws it again. Sucker!
Of course, just when I'm feeling like a champ, I go to my favorite spot on the couch and look who's there. I ask you!

O K, if there's one thing I hate, I hate flies! As a boxer I know it's my job to protect my friends from these germ ridden freaks!

Boxer Begging Etiquette
As any boxer knows, begging is an art. I'm not supposed to eat people food but ..... there are always suckers around like Mo''s friend Dan who was here yesterday. He thinks I'll like him more if I feed him. Doesn't he know boxers love everybody? You wouldn't think so it you saw my beggin' tooth!

Boxer Boo: Yep, I Run the House
I sleep on an ottoman from Pottery Barn at the foot of my pals' bed. Of course, if I get too cold or lonely, I just cuddle up to my pal Mo because after all, I have my needs. Mo keeps telling me to stop snoring. As if!
This is my spot on the couch, although I sit wherever I want anyway. When I want more food or a walk, I sit here like a person and make a low growling sound until I get my way. Humans are such suckers!

Even A Boxer has Enemies!
Okay, I know I'm supposed to be the dolphin to the pit bull's shark but even I have my limits! There is a young, disrespectful Lab that lives behind us. He's very covert. He never barks at me, just brings out a flat basketball and shakes it in his mouth. You have to know that that is going to drive me completely nuts! I growl, bark, howl, but he just laughs at me. This goes on almost every day! I know where he lives. but Mo and Brian are friends with his pals Kevin and Tammy. So I just have to hold my tongue when we walk by. He's such a punk though. Tomorrow, I think I'll bring out my soccer ball and show him who's the top dog!

Why is it so cold? Too cold for a boxer!
Wow has it been cold in Portland! First hail then snow. I thought it was spring time! I'm really not a fan of getting wet. I think I'll just snuggle up and stay warm.

Boxers Get Around: What a weekend!
Well, we had quite a weekend! We really got around. We started off at Billy Bangs on Friday night. I had fun with my friends, Mara, Keith and Chuck. Then I went with my pal Mo to see Uncle Joe. He is 96 years old. I'm almost nine in human years. I went to this web site that has an age converter: OnlineConversion.com. It says I'm 49. I don't feel a day over 40 and people say I look much younger! I'm not like some gals that just let themselves go!
I should probably take it easy the though.

Another Lazy Day in the Life of a Boxer
I started out my life being pretty small so my people let me sit on the furniture. I am a lot bigger now but still see no reason why I can't sit where ever I want. Like in Brian's chair....
Or on a foot stool.....
My life is pretty good. I once heard Paul McCartney say when asked what he'd been up to lately, "Oh just hangin' and havin' a good time." I can really relate to that. Ya know?

My Pedigree
I started out my life in a little town in Southern Oregon called Roseburg. My mom and dad were Mister Buster and Princess Pebbles. Here's my family history:
Here are my parents:
Then one day I was taken in the car to meet some people. My human mom cried when she handed me over to my new pals, Mo and Brian. When I got to their house I met Ryan. He was a tall teenager then who loved to puppy wrestle. He has since grown up and lives in his own house now. I never grew up though. Ryan comes to see me a lot but I mostly hang with Mo and Brian. They take me just about everywhere. I pretty much run the house. I have my own spot on the couch and sometimes sleep with my head on the pillow in their bed. Here's what I looked like when I met my pals.

My Name is Ox the Boxer
Hi There,
My name is Ox. Actually, that's just one of my names. Lately, I've been going by Mrs. Boo. I am an eight year old boxer. I live in Portland Oregon and this is my blog. I'm so lucky to live here in Portland because I get to go to dog parks and bars like the Lucky Lab . I can even go into the bank and shop at Pier One, ( as long as I don't break anything!) I have lots of human friends too. Anyway, I'm just going to use this blog to talk about my life in Portland and why more cities should be as cool as this one for dogs. I hope you'll stop by to see what I'm up to.
Happy Days! Ox (Mrs. Boo)
